Biography

Kim Pluskota (b. 1980, USA) is an MFA candidate in the painting program at Savannah College of Art and Design (USA). Her undergraduate studies in photography and graphic design created a formal and conceptual foundation for her BFA in studio arts, leading to her pursuit of a graduate degree. Pluskota uses various media to present colorful abstractions to capture the imagination of the viewer. She finds it important to create art that focuses on aesthetic beauty and whimsy in order to offer a reprieve from the stresses of everyday life.

Pluskota is temporarily living in Viljandi, Estonia, and though she is originally from Illinois, she now calls southern Mississippi her home. During her time overseas, she is gaining valuable field experience at Kondase Keskus art museum and teaching experience at University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy. Upon completing her MFA, she plans to pursue a teaching career in higher education. Pluskota continues to be involved in creative events and exhibitions while abroad, and she is gathering inspiration from this experience to apply to her artistic endeavors.
